Lots of Traveling

Image
We’re so glad you guys are interested in the excitement, adventures , trials, and spiritual growth of our mission.  This week we only had to teach Seminary 3 days!!  Plus we went to the temple during our 2 days off. Monday morning, Walt and the Elders went ice fishing with Richard.  They check the weather forecast to determine the best day of the week.  It is warmer those days, until you are out on an open body of water with the wind.  I think ice fishing is NOT one of Walt’s favorites.  He does it for Richard.  Nic’s sitter for that morning fell through at the last minute, so when I dropped Walt off in Osage, I got Nic instead.  Richard had packed him a big bag of food, so he was well taken care of in that area.  Nic seems to always be hungry, and I am not as prepared as I would be at home for grandchildren and their appetites.  He will even open our fridge and look for options.  It wasn’t too long before the boys ...

Bald Eagle we saw on Friday  Mondays just don’t ever seem to be that busy.  I guess most times it is prep day for the upcoming week; making appointments and such.  We were invited over to the Smith’s for dinner.  He is a good cook; much better than me.  Renee was a chef, but he did most of the cooking.  How crazy to have two good cooks in one family.  We had roast beef and the fixings.  I brought brownies and the kids were excited about that.  Of course, they had to finish their dinner first.  Once Nic realized that, he was more focused on getting it done.  Afterwards, we talked about the Book of Mormon and watched the new video for 1 Nephi 1 & 2.  The videos are really well done.  I like them.  Nic recognized the story right away.  He said - Is that Lehi?  Where is Nephi?   Is someone going to get killed?   He knows all the good stuff. Nic wanted me to take a picture of his empty pla...

Screen shot of Friday night temperature We actually might get this out on time.  We are a bit ahead on Seminary lessons, so not so much priority on preparing a lesson today for either of us.  Friday morning, we woke up to 6 inches of snow and it was still snowing.  I texted a few parents to check their road conditions.  The weather can be so different just 10 minutes away.  I told the Bishop we were considering cancelling seminary for the kids safety.  He said he would support that decision, and bam - it’s done.  Of course, we were so sad to go back to bed.  I actually didn’t even wake up Walt.  He doesn’t get up till 6 and all the excitement was over by then.  So his lesson for Friday will be given tomorrow.  It’s a bit trickier to give lessons out of order with the Book of Mormon.  It has a great story line and would be confusing to teach out of order.  This also means the kids get breakfast tomorrow since I wa...
